Light filled Music room extension
The main focus of this project was to design & construct a new Music room extension to accommodate our musician clients new Organ. The organ was to be custom designed and built and would be one of kind, so we knew from the outset that the Music room needed to be equally as special.
The music room is constructed of a Glulam timber frame with a highly glazed gable which features passive sustainable design features: Carefully designed brise-soleil made from Cedar fins allows the lower winter sun to penetrate and warm the space whilst blocking direct sunlight during the summer months.
The rear of the extension features projecting angled windows to open up and focus views on new and interesting parts of the garden. The window surrounds are finished in Dark handmade ceramic tiling.
Other works included replacing the existing entrance Porch with a matching Glulam framed structure with stunning composite timber / aluminium Front door. The flat garage roof was replaced with a new pitched roof. This created Attic storage space and a platform for a new photovoltaic array installed alongside cutting edge battery cells which store energy for use in the evening.
Working closely with Rogue Designs, a full architectural, interior design & landscaping package was provided and the project was fully managed from inception right through to completion.
